Palm Beach Tan, a retail enterprise that specializes in tanning, has announced plans to open six franchise locations in this state by 2008 and to employ more than 100 New Mexicans.

The Dallas-based franchise operator hopes that expanding into a market with similar demographics and a perceived need for indoor tanning salons will encourage entrepreneurs to develop the concept throughout Albuquerque.

The development plans for each site include a 3,000-square-foot retail building with 20 to 25 tanning beds.

For those interested in franchise opportunities, initial start-up capital ranging from $500,000 to $600,000 is required. The company says it offers training, initial marketing and ongoing operational support to new franchisees.
