Tanning Beds - Call for Total Ban on Sunbeds

The Irish Cancer Society has called for a total ban on sunbeds in Ireland.

The Society, responding to reports that the forthcoming new cancer strategy from the Government will call for a stricter regulation of the use of sunbeds and a ban on children using sunbeds, says these restrictions should extend to a total ban on their use.

The Society says it also supports the recommendation in the report that there be increases in the rate of duty on tobacco each year above the rate of inflation and says there should be significant cigarette price increases.
