Tanning a Teen Turn-off

TEENAGERS might not have completely abandoned the image of the bronzed Anzac, but concerns about skin cancer appear to have dented it.

The first survey of Australian teen tanning habits, by the Cancer Council, shows that almost 90per cent of teenagers are now aware of the risks of skin cancer and more than two-thirds no longer attempt to get tans in summer.

The survey comes as a report by the National Climate Centre suggests a gradual rise in Australia's temperatures over the past 95 years, and particularly since the 1950s, in another indication of climate change.
