A very optimistic mood, outstanding foreign demand and a run on innovations: These were the characteristics of SOLARIA Cologne — the International Trade Fair for Tanning Products and Equipment, which ended after three days on Saturday, 29th October 2005. A total of 159 exhibiting companies from 17 countries welcomed some 8,000 trade visitors from 50 countries to their stands, which featured very sophisticated design. With 46 per cent of exhibitors coming from abroad (2003: 32 per cent) and 32 percent of visitors from outside Germany (2003: 27 per cent), the organisers of SOLARIA Cologne achieved their ambitious goal. Oliver P. Kuhrt, Executive Vice President of Koelnmesse, commented: “We succeeded in significantly boosting the trade fair’s international character and in positioning it as a hub for multilateral business. This allowed us to provide even more promising sales opportunities for our exhibitors while presenting a more diversified product range for our visitors.” In addition to the event’s international scope, the factors contributing to the upbeat mood at the fair included the innovative power of the sector, which introduced many new and further developed products.
