With her mass of platinum blonde hair and smooth, porcelain skin, Scarlett Johansson has always exemplified elegant 1950s style.

Until, that is, she decided to experiment with her make-up - to disastrous effect.

For as the 21-year-old shimmied up the red carpet at her latest movie premiere, she revealed a rather unfortunate two-tone neckline. The clash was caused by her pale face makeup and neck and the fake tan she'd applied to the rest of her body.

From the front, all was well. Indeed, her demure black frock showed off just a hint of tanned decolletage while her face remained pale. The problem only became evident from the back, when she turned around.

Because, with her hair gathered up in fancy beehive hairstyle, Miss Johansson revealed a hugely embarrassing semi-circle of white skin, spreading from the base of her neck to the front of her chest and face.
